We mention quite often that our gaming clothes<\/u><\/strong><\/a> are sustainable and eco-friendly, that the factories are powered by renewable energy and that, generally, we try to do our best for the environment. So we thought it best to show you some behind the scenes of the GGWP Clothing products. What actually goes on with our production line from the organic cotton to the supply chain.<\/p>

So here is a little bit about the products we use.<\/p>

Supply Chain of Champions<\/h2>

Supply chains are complex and often full of problems, but ours is one that is full of solutions and we're proud to be able to share it with you. Even in the very niche parts, some fairly complex methods are used to make production sustainable and that's why we chose to work with Teemill, who build or own the factories where our products are made. Our dyehouse has a closed loop water supply, and has water quality, chemistry, mechanical and civil engineers, working full time engineering systems that mean the water coming out of the dyehouse is cleaner than the water going in. It's even clean enough to drink. This is a long way ahead of fashion factories pouring pollutants in rivers. Every piece of our gaming clothing range is made with sustainability in mind, and there's a huge team behind the scenes from seed to shop working with us to bring you products made the right way. We hope you love them.<\/p>

Our Packaging - <\/strong>Rip-proof, Splash-proof, Waste-proof<\/h2>

At GGWP Clothing we pay attention to the details. For example it is not just the quality of the product itself but what it is delivered and wrapped in. So, instead of plastic packaging, we only use rip and splash-proof mailer bags made out of paper. Big orders come in cardboard boxes, with paper-based tape. That means no nasty plastic going back into the environment once you're done with it, because natural materials are not harmful to nature. Look at it this way, there is nowhere to game if there if we mess up the environment. Even though you can, we suggest you don't put it straight in the recycling - use it as wrapping paper, colour it in, try out some origami or make it into your very own hat - go crazy.<\/p>

Traceable, from seed to shop<\/h2>

Sustainability is about knowing who made our products, what they're made from and where they go when they are worn out. That's traceability. And it's one of the reasons we work together with Teemill to manufacture our products. It's not just that the supply chain is certified organic, it means that we can see where our products get printed. We can see the people who have actually worked on the fields and in the factories that supply our organic cotton. So when you shop from us, together, we know we're all part of the solution to this thing called sustainability - not part of the problem.<\/p>

Plants. Not plastic.<\/h2>

Over a million tonnes of clothing are purchased annually in the UK according to a recent WRAP report, an increase of almost 20% compared to 5 years prior. As more people buy more stuff, this means fast fashion is getting faster still. 60% of that is made from plastic and 99% of it is never recycled, that means tonnes of polluting waste going to landfill or incineration per second. Burying or burning plastic isn\u2019t a sensible strategy. The only way to get serious about sustainability is a redesign from the start. For us this means using natural organic materials and renewable energy to make our products, each of which is designed to be remade when it\u2019s worn out. Natural, sustainable, and never to landfill. One tonne at a time.<\/p>

Circular Design<\/strong><\/h2>

A truckload of clothing is sent to landfill every second. This is not sustainable. That's why in our supply chain, we work with manufacturers that do things differently. Every product from GGWP Clothing was designed to be made into something new when worn out so the material stays in use. This picture is one of the shredding stations where old material is being remilled. Check the label of any product purchased from our store to learn more, and help keep the material flowing.<\/p>
