Even though all our gamer clothes<\/u><\/em><\/strong><\/a> are based solely on the online thing, we enjoy the odd board game too. When you make a board game based on the digital game, that is a role reversal we can get behind.<\/p>

Xcom: The Board Game<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>

You and up to 3 friends take on different roles within XCOM. You must work together to defeat the aliens. Each turn is timed and within this time limit there are UFOs, alien assaults while countries descend into chaos. There is a free app companion for this board game which keeps time, progress and tells you what the aliens are getting unto. The video game is great, difficult but great. It is also turn based so is very well suited to teh board game world.<\/span><\/p>

Portal: The Uncooperative Cake Acquisition Game<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>

Players take responsibility for a large amount of test subjects and must guide them through Aperture science, performing tests and collecting cake tokens. The game generally centers around keeping your cake safe and pushing your opponents cake into an incinerator. One of the best games ever created, but does it translate to analogue? I don\u2019t know, I haven\u2019t played it.<\/span><\/p>

Assassins Creed: Arena<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>

A game of competitive assassinations. That description alone is just awesome. You and your rival assassins must work your way to the centre of the board. Guards, poor passersby and general obstacles await you on your travels - kill or be killed and don't get spotted.<\/span><\/p>

Gears of War: The Board Game<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>

You know the way the game is basically about jumping over chest high walls and killing locusts? Yeah, that. Puts a big emphasis on teamwork though, also just like the game.<\/span><\/p>

The video game deals out a hell of a lot of information<\/span>\u00a0 - save the girl, wipe out debt, time rifts, mech suits etc. etc. Its a lot for a board game to take on so its a good thing that The Siege of Columbia is a strategy game! It focuses on the divide between the Vox Populi and the Founders.<\/p>

Civilization: The Board Game<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>

Build your empire, starting from the stone age. It is a lot of work but it is ok, you have friends to help you\u2026or stab you in the back. This is a big game and could probably end friendships like Monopoly, but is as big and bold as its infamous video game counterpart.<\/span><\/p>

Starcraft: The Board Game<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>

A turn based version of the real time strategy game. 3 races, one winner. Buildings, upgrades and vehicles - turning resource management into a competition. Not a game I ever got into, but you cannot deny its place as one the most popular games of all time.<\/span><\/p>

World of Warcaft: The Board Game<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>

The biggest MMORPG becomes cardboard. It is only fair that the game that gave us \u2018LEROOOOOOOOOOOOOY JEEEEEENKKIIIIIIIINS\u2019 gets cemented in very medium known to man. It is still massive though. Nearly 1000 cards, tokens, figures and various components. Also, don't expect a game to be over quickly\u2026hours and hours and hours, just like the video game!<\/span><\/p>

Resident Evil: The Board Game<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>

Take all the elements of Resident Evil and stick them in a card game. Characters, weapons, locations and of course zombies. Simple, done before but in now in all new Resident Evil style.<\/span><\/p>

That\u2019s right, they made a board game of of doom. A turn based, cooperative table top game. Doom is pretty well represented here, shotguns and hellspawn. What\u2019s not to like?<\/span><\/p>

Well that is it. And, I mean, if you don\u2019t feel like getting the gamer in your life a piece of <\/span>awesome gaming clothing<\/u><\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/a>, then you could always get them a board game instead.<\/span><\/p>
